Longest run of the year thus far. 17km today which takes this week’s total just past 45km. With three running days left in this week I’ll should 5 hours short of finishing Running man. In today’s 1.5 hours of listening what seemed to stick with me was when Charlie quotes American novelist Herman Melville “It is not down on any map; true places never are.”. Running for me so often takes me to a place that only running can. It’s not the physical destination but rather the place I go in my mind.
Today’s route took me through beautiful Bushy Park where I stopped at the Eisenhower memorial (hence the Eisenhower quote for the title) for today’s pic. I find it awesome to think that General Dwight D. Eisenhower, and his guys were based in the place I now run just months prior to D-Day back in 1944.
Until tomorrow, keep running towards better!
I listened to 37% of Running Man by Charlie Engle
