Run 17 – Man with a plan

Ray Kroc was a man with a plan! If you don’t know who he is I can tell you this….he’s the reason you are able to eat a big Mac, that always tastes the same, at over 36,ooo McDonald’s restaurants (if you can call them that), across 119 countries around the world.

As I ran over Wimbledon common, through Richmond Park, and along the Kingston upon Thames River bank (not my usual route) I listened to Michael dissect the mean machine that is McDonalds. He explains that it’s the refined, mastered, and flawless processesses and systems put in place by Mr Kroc over 50 years ago that are the result of Golden Arche’s ridiculous success. Until today I’ve heard many say that McDonalds are in the business of property and not flipping burgers…today I realised, just like anything (including bettering your running) it’s down to a tried, tested, and repeatable system.

I normally run in the morning. In fact, today was my first sunset run of 2017. I enjoyed a beautiful sunset as you can see from the pics below.

Heard this one today “skill-set, without the mind-set, will leave you upset”.

Until tomorrow, keep running towards better!

I listened to 39% of The E-Myth Revisited by Michael E. Gerber
