Some people got to church, some people mediate and some people run. The highlight of my running week is very often a Sunday social session. Monday to Friday I enjoy the solidarity of solo running, it’s time used to listen, learn and reflect. Just like the end of a work week by the time Sunday comes I’m ready to unplug my headphones, adjust the pace (up our down depending on the group) and enjoy the chit-chat.
We did 12km this morning which is about half that of the usual Sunday group run. The usual pace is sitting around the 5 min/km but today I was hauled round the track at 4:30 min/km -thanks Martin. A reminder that if you want to better your pace (or whatever you doing in life) you need to hang about with those stronger than you. As they say “your the average of the five people you mostly spend your time with”.
Races – it’s no surprise I was punished on today’s run. Martin is in training for the UTM Mont Blanc a 120km adventure race in Chamonix. The distance is one thing however to get a real sense of what this race is all about you need to check out the elevations.
Until tomorrow, keep running towards better!
