I’ll admit. I’m an addict. Those post run endorphins keep me coming back for more and more. I ran last night and no less than 12 hours later I’m back at it – this shit is good! Following some local insight I made my way along the River Avon today towards the Clifton Suspicion Bridge to take in the city views. Despite the cold, overcast weather the views did not disappoint. As I approached the top I was feeling good…pumped…high! As I got to the top I saw a sign that read “Talk to us” (pictured below) a stark reminder of the sadness that really does exist in the world.
In my listening today Michael explains that “without meaningful values we have nothing more to share apart from our emptiness (snippet here). To fill the gap here we seek out distraction in things, music, substance”. I don’t preach religion but I do preach the practise of exercise. I believe strongly that if we could get more people moving we would have allot more happy people.
Following my run I researched who would actually take the call if someone dialled “that” number. Turns out it’s the people over Samaritans. Also worth mentioning that they receive a call every 6 seconds. Good work guys. If you’re interested you can find out more about volunteering here.
Until tomorrow, keep running towards better.
